MORE ABOUT appointments

Are you struggling to conceive or have you had a recent miscarriage? It can seem daunting to know where to start, but there is so much that you can do to optimise your fertility outcomes naturally.  A naturopathic approach can help uncover the root cause and support your reproductive health naturally through targeted supplements, diet, lifestyle and herbal medicine. It is also a great support alongside IVF to improve outcomes.

  • Hormonal imbalances (PCOS, thyroid dysfunction, irregular cycles)
  • Low ovarian reserve or poor egg quality
  • Male fertility concerns, including low sperm count, poor motility and impaired DNA fragmentation
  • MTHFR and other genetic polymorphisms
  • Endometriosis and reproductive inflammation
  • Autoimmune conditions affecting conception
  • Blood sugar imbalances and insulin resistance
  • Environmental toxin exposure affecting hormone function

Factors Affecting Fertility:

Rather than just treating symptoms, naturopathic medicine aims to identify and address imbalances that may be hindering conception. Through a personalised and evidence-based plan, we work on:
  • Nourishing the Body – Supporting egg and sperm quality with targeted nutrition and key micronutrients.
  • Hormonal Balance – Using diet, herbal medicine, and lifestyle strategies to promote healthy cycles, ovulation and progesterone levels.
  • Gut & Detoxification Support – Enhancing digestion and liver function to improve hormone metabolism.
  • Vaginal Microbiome Optimisation - Enhancing microbial diversity and eradicating dysbiosis that may interfere with implantation and sperm motility.
  • Reducing Inflammation – Addressing immune and inflammatory factors that may interfere with implantation and carrying a baby to term.
  • Managing Stress & Lifestyle Factors – Supporting nervous system regulation, sleep, and emotional well-being.
  • Minimising Toxin Exposure – Reducing the impact of endocrine disruptors on reproductive health.

By taking a whole-body approach, many individuals and couples improve their fertility outcomes and go on to have successful pregnancies. If you’re looking for natural and proactive fertility support, I’d love to help you on your journey.

A Holistic Naturopathic Approach to Fertility:

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How can a naturopath help with fertility?
A fertility naturopath focuses on identifying and addressing factors that influence reproductive health, including hormone balance, thyroid function, nutrient status, gut health and inflammation. Treatment may include personalised nutrition, lifestyle strategies and targeted supplementation.

2. How long does it take to improve egg and sperm quality?
Egg development takes around 90 days and sperm development takes around 70 days, meaning that diet, lifestyle and nutrient changes will take full effect in 70-90 days for couples.

3. What nutrients are important for fertility?
Key nutrients involved in reproductive health include folate, B12, choline, zinc, selenium, omega-3 fatty acids, ubiquinol, nicotinamide, and specific antioxidants which support egg development, hormone production and cellular health.

4. What are the biggest drivers of unexplained infertility?
In my professional experience the biggest drivers of unexplained infertility include metabolic dysfunction, insulin resistance, thyroid dysfunction, poor sperm quality, disordered DNA methylation, autoimmunity and body composition.

5. What lifestyle factors affect fertility?
Fertility can be influenced by metabolic health, stress, exercise, nutrition, environmental exposures, body composition, smoking, drugs and alcohol consumption. Addressing these individual factors can improve fertility outcomes.

6. How should I be timing conception?
You should be having sex every second day during your fertile window, that's the five days leading up to ovulation and one day after ovulation.

7. What tests check fertility?
For women AMH plus female hormones 7 days post-ovulation will investigate egg reserve, hormonal balance and the quality of your progesterone production. Additionally, you can look at doing a hycosy to assess fallopian tubal patency. For men thy can test male hormones plus a semen analysis with DNA fragmentation to assess sperm and DNA health.
